uch has been the popularity of the ‘sword and fantasy’ epic of Game of Thrones that there has developed a real world demand to visit some of the key sights that were transformed into the dramatic locations for the story. With an average of over 44 million viewers across the 8 series it is not surprising that there might be more than a handful of afficionados keen to experience at first hand some of the wonderful locations. Most significantly, it has highlighted the dramatic beauty of various regions of Northern Ireland, and especially the northern and eastern coasts as well as the Mourne Mountains to the south. You can base yourself in the vibrant city of Belfast in the knowledge that all the most signifivant locations are within 1 to 2 hours drive north and south of the city. This would suit a long weekend, but if spending more than three days visiting the region we might suggest additional accommodation up on the northern coast.
