Postcards from... Booklet 2022

The city’s newest 5-star luxury hotel is a tour de force blending the history of the original 16th-century original building with an elegant, contemporary interior design that will offer guests an unforgettable experience. The project was developed by award-winning designer Jaime Beriestain, who sought the perfect balance between the structure’s tradition of the original Palácio da Anunciada and the contrast in the design and comfort of each of its spaces. The One Palácio da Anunciada offers guests, in addition to its elegant 83 rooms and well-cared for interior spaces, 2500 m 2 of gardens, as well as elegant dining areas in the noble rooms of the original palace. This heritage property is a small 18th century palace located in a particularly pretty street in the Bairro Region. It is well located next to the Museum of Ancient Art and close to the Gulbenkian Museum, Lisbon’s finest. The old wing of the Janelas Verdes, with its small objects d’art, paintings and mementos takes us back to a period when life seemed to be less rushed and more refined. The new wing, though, has a more contemporary decoration and feel, and offers stupendous views from the upper floors across the capital. All 17 rooms have a light airy feel, are very tastefully decorated and provide for some delightful personal touches. Located in the heart of Lisbon, the historic Four Seasons Hotel Ritz wears the cultural heart and soul of Portugal on its sleeve. Inside, art-deco sensibilities mingle with an updated Louis XVI style, and a collection of important contemporary local artwork fills the halls. Outside, views of the city’s rolling hills and brightly tiled exteriors spread out before you. After spending the day exploring the city sights, many just steps from the Hotel, return to a seasonally inspired, Michelin- starred gastronomic experience at CURA restaurant. Built in the 19th century for a noble Portuguese family, this is Lisbon’s most luxurious and sumptuously furnished hotel. Located in the diplomatic quarter, Lapa, between the Bairro Alto and Belem districts, the palace is set in beautiful landscaped gardens which slope past the large outdoor heated swimming pool, towards the River Tagus below. The gastronomic ‘Lapa’restaurant serves classic Portuguese and Mediterranean dishes in elegant surroundings, while ‘Le Pavillon’serves light dishes by the pool in summer and the ‘Tejo’bar terrace is a wonderful place to relax with a drink overlooking the river.
