St. Joseph’s is a very special boutique hotel at the heart of the Old Town in Dubrovnik. Built in the 16th century, it had fallen into disrepair in modern times but has now been lovingly restored to become one of the most elegant properties within the city walls. Each of the six beautiful rooms has been tastefully decorated in a style worthy of Dubrovnik’s illustrious past. The bathrooms feature spacious rain showers and complimentary toiletries. The King Suites also have inviting bathtubs and twin sinks. There is also a 3-bedroom cottage next door that would be ideal for a larger group booking. OldTown, Dubrovnik Immaculate Historic Conversion Orašac, near Dubrovnik Chill-Out Family Friendly Resort Near the sleepy village of Orašac, Sun Gardens Dubrovnik, a member of The Leading Hotels of theWorld, is set within picturesque leafy grounds overlooking the sparkling Adriatic Sea. The resort offers accommodation options to suit every guest, whether you’re celebrating a special occasion, a family holiday or simply looking for somewhere romantic to get away from it all. Rooms and suites feature balconies. One, two and three-bedroom Residences are well suited to families or those wanting more space, with outdoor terraces perfect for al fresco dining. The hotel runs a water service to Dubrovnik (20 minutes). The cursed isle of Lockrum Sounds spooky but it is worth visiting. The island of Lokrum, lying 600 metres from the city, has houses and buildings on it, but no one is allowed to spend the night there. This is because when an aristocrat demanded that the Benedictine monks living on the island all leave, the last monk to leave the island cursed it, and so it is thought to be unlucky. There is now a restaurant at the old monastery. Our Lady of the Rocks The coastline to the south of Dubrovnik becomes very dramatic as you cross over the border to neighbouring Montenegro. A narrow sea passage takes you into the Fjordlike Bay of Kotor, an impossibly beautiful region dotted with old churches and fortified medieval towns and villages. Perhaps the most appealing site is the baroque church of Our Lady of the Rocks, situated on a low-lying islet in the middle of the bay. It is an easy day out lying just 90 km from Dubrovnik. Simply laid back The picturesque charming town of Cavtat is possibly the most famous place in Konavle region and it is situated only 18 km from Dubrovnik. Its best kept secret is the old town centre that hides many lovely cafés and restaurants. It has a stunning waterfront lined with palm trees and has been described as closely resembling Saint Tropez.
