The South west & Bonifacio The west coast of Corsica is much wilder than the beach studded east coast. The moutains seen to encroach the shoreline much more, and there is a high proportion of land (and sea) contained within protected natural parks: U Capu Biancu Bonifacio, Corsica Hôtel U Capu Biancu is beautifully situated on a white limestone headland, affording spectacular views out across the Gulf of Santa Manza and the open sea beyond. The setting is truly breathtaking and the atmosphere really relaxed. Hôtel U Capu Biancu features beautifully landscaped gardens and a superb infinity swimming pool as its centrepiece, which blends seamlessly with the sea below. The whole property exudes a beach chic appeal that has been nurtured by the long standing owners. There is a beautiful secluded beach directly below the hotel where there are kayaks, boats and canoes available for hire, and water- skiing and fishing equipment (all at a supplement and payable locally). There is also a diving club and horse riding centre nearby. Le Maquis Grosseto-Prugna, Near Ajaccio, Corsica Since 1949, the 5-star Le Maquis hotel has glorified refinement and well-being that seduce and inspire loyalty among a French and international clientele. Indeed, this dream establishment is the only luxury hotel on the Ile de Beauté to have its own beach nestling in a paradisiacal, private and naturally protected cove, and two pools one of which is heated and indoor pool. Also take advantage of a restaurant famous for its cuisine and its personalised service as much as for the enchanting setting of the terrace with a dominating view over the Sanguinaires Islands. Marinca Hôtel & Spa Olmeto, Near Propriano, Corsica Located in beautiful and elevated grounds by the sea, with magnificent views across the Valinco bay to nearby Propriano, Hôtel Marinca is a haven of spectacular vistas, peace and tranquillity. Extensively refurbished over recent years, the hotel now offers a spa and beauty centre with a variety of treatments available and a stylish, gastronomic restaurant.
