The terraced plantations on the steep mountain slopes attest to the ingenuity of Arab engineering of the time. If you are based down to the south of the island then you might want to take a day trip out to the Cabrera Archipelago. Within an hour you will arrive at a peaceful blue paradise, an oasis sheltering some of the best-preserved examples of marine life in the whole of the Mediterranean Sea. Onshore the peaceful islands really feel like time has stood still. Wherever you find yourself this welcoming island will fill your days with plenty of activities and sights to keep even the most restless young hearts occupied.
